Teaching Arts After School with the Travelling Artists

I began working as an After-School Arts Teacher with The Travelling Artists in the spring of 2014 (and yes, they spell it the British way, with two Ls). The organization sends instructors to schools in the GTA for weekly classes or one-off workshops in visual and performing arts.

The courses I have taught include mask-making, animal crafts, and cartooning. I'm responsible for creating and executing course outlines and lesson plans based on visual arts and crafts, while incorporating cultural and historical content. I supervise small groups of children aged 7 to 11, and tailor courses to meet individual needs and abilities. I also budget for and purchase supplies.
